A record for every business jet.
avirank is a lookup for US business jets by tail number. For each aircraft it shows what the FAA has on file, whether the aircraft is on a Part 135 charter certificate and with which operator, and what passengers said after they flew on it.
It exists because a charter quote names a tail number, and until now there was no quick way to check what that tail actually is.
Where the data comes from
Registration facts come from the FAA aircraft registry, which avirank refreshes every day. Charter status comes from the FAA's published list of Part 135 certificate holders and the aircraft on each certificate, refreshed every week. Each page shows the date of the data it's built on.
The exact wording avirank uses is deliberate: an aircraft is "on the Part 135 certificate of" an operator "per the FAA's list dated" a given day. That is all the listing means. It is not a safety rating, it says nothing about the aircraft's condition, and the FAA's list has known gaps. For anything that matters, confirm with the operator's operations specifications.
Reviews come only from passengers after a specific flight, through a link sent by their broker, and are checked before they appear. avirank never shows who wrote a review.
For brokers
After a trip, you enter the tail number, the date and your client's email address. Your client gets a short link: five questions about the aircraft and the crew, an optional photo, and about a minute of their time. Their answers appear on the tail's page once checked, without their name.
Over time that gives you something no listing shows: what the aircraft you book is actually like to fly on, from the people you put on it. To take part, write to [email protected].
For operators
Every operator on the FAA's list already has a fleet page here. If one of them is yours, you can claim it, correct what the FAA has wrong, and add what the registry doesn't carry: cabin configuration, connectivity, when the interior was last refurbished. Write to [email protected] from an address at your company's domain.
